St. Cloud-Based eBureau Closes on $12M Funding Deal

eBureau raised $12 million in a second round of funding. The cash infusion will be used to build eBureau's sales force and to market the technology that it has been developing since 2004. "We're the first into this market, and that means that we have to do a lot of education with customers. We need to show them that what we have will deliver value to them, and that means loading their data and running the programs" for up to two months.

Analytics and scoring company eBureau said Monday it has raised $12 million in venture capital, funding it will use to boost sales and marketing efforts. The St. Cloud-based company uses technology to help financial services and other firms make decisions. For instance, a collections agency would use the technology to determine which people are more likely to eventually pay up if hounded, allowing agencies to better focus their efforts.

eBureau Predicts Success With $12M Series B

Having built up a massive collection of personal data, eBureau LLC has secured a $12 million Series B round to enable companies to better focus their online marketing efforts. The round was led by Redpoint Ventures with participation from the company's existing investor Split Rock Partners. The company improves its clients' transactions with consumers by offering services such as fine-tuning sales leads, helping verify identities and gauging how likely an individual is to pay their bills, said Gordy Meyer, eBureau's president and chief executive.
